Physical Education Center

Organization & responsibilities

The Center was formally established on July 1, 1998. Staffed with one director, some full-time PE instructors, sports coaches, and several clerks, the Center aims to execute and promote athletic activities and sports. The Center is in charge of planning and executing an annual campus-wide field-and-track meet, on-campus and off-campus intercollegiate sports competitions, sports clubs for faculty, student physical fitness check-ups, physical wellness team, and all school sports teams.

Teaching facilities

Our teaching facilities have been maintained and upgraded on a regular basis. In full service are three table-tennis rooms, three badminton courts, and spacious outdoor courts for basketball, volleyball and tennis. Two gyms for workout, an aerobic room, and a field-and track field that meets international standards are also easily accessible to all. The Center is pleased to provide safe, complete, and standard facilities that take into consideration the PE instruction and students’ need for physical workout activities in free time.

Outstanding features

Five aspects are well noted: (1) possession of plentiful PE publications and databases, (2) comprehensive computerization of administration and processes, (3) outstanding PE instruction and administration, (4) a leading college in initiating campus-wide physical check-ups, and (5) students’ easy access to sports facilities.

Future prospect

The Institute lays equal emphasis on cultivating students’ professional competency, sound and healthy character, and physical health. Solemnly the Center will continue to uplift its PE instruction quality, execute more efficiently its PE service programs for everyone on campus for their better health, and initiate more games and activities to promote sportsmanship and a sport culture. Meantime, the Center intends to partner with the community for the advancement of sports as a popular movement. Another exciting development is the construction of an all-purpose gym scheduled to start in 2004. Now with the gym’s blueprint concluded, NPIC is looking forward to the day the Center’s services can be delivered more effectively and efficiently.
